Welcome
I am Giovanna Eley, a New Jersey-based emerging multidisciplinary artist dedicated to amplifying Black voices and experiences and confronting their historical underrepresentation in art, culture, and memory. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Rowan University, where I concentrated in photography, sculpture/metal, and videography, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design. My creative practice spans a wide range of materials and techniques, including glass, textiles, printmaking, ceramics, metals, photography, and video, allowing me to engage with both traditional craft and contemporary fine art in a layered, experimental way. As an artist, I embrace the belief that nothing is truly original; we are all influenced by the world around us. My role is to recognize these influences, reinterpret them, and revolutionize narratives through my work.
